Fields of expertise |
|
Media/Multimedia, Journalism, Government/Politics and Linguistics: I have translated several newspaper articles dealing with the “power” of Mass Media. Moreover, my final dissertation for the three-year course was a linguistic analysis of four articles published by four leading American newspapers the day after America launched the first attack on Iraq. Its title was “9/11 and the American press: Language and Ideology in The Boston Globe, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times and The Washington Post”. I have a particular interest in these subjects.
Education, Pedagogy, Human Resources (and also Social Sciences and Ethics): during my courses (English courses for children, adults, immigrants), i have often translated educational material. Moreover, at the university I have translated hundreds of pages dealing with education and pedagogy.
Tourism and travel: I have translated and proofread tourist material, brochures and Internet websites both from English and from French.
Engineering, Automotive, Automation and Robotics, Business: I have translated technical manuals for companies of the mechanical sector, as well as business letters and e-mails. For short periods of time, I have worked as a secretary in a company in the mechanical sector.
IT, Hardware, Software: I have recently completed the translation of a SAP manual (I personally translated about 25000 words in a team project involving other translators) with Tageditor.
Not only have I studied the terminology that these fields imply, but I also have a personal interest in these subjects. This means I constantly research and try to expand my knowledge. “Passion” is always the first word on the list in everything I do. |
